Kansas City Current Sends Three Players on International Duty in December

KANSAS CITY – While the NWSL offseason continues on, three Kansas City Current players will join their home nations for December matches. Danish defender Stine Ballisager Pedersen and Brazilian defender Lauren and midfielder Debinha will all play for their country the first week of December.


Ballisager has played the full 90 minutes in each match of the 2023-2024 UEFA Women’s League so far. Denmark now looks to close out the group stage of the tournament with matches against Germany December 1 at 1:30 p.m. CT and Iceland December 5 at 12:30 p.m. CT. The international veteran with 50 appearances for the Danes has led her country to the top of the group table with four wins and no losses or draws and a berth in the Nations League Finals.

Brazil will take full advantage of the FIFA International Window with three friendlies scheduled during the break. Currently ranked eighth by FIFA, Brazil will host 11th ranked Japan for a pair of matches November 30 at 12:15 p.m. CT and December 3 at 8 a.m. CT. From there, the Canarinhas will travel north to the city of Araraquara to host Nicaragua December 6 at 3 p.m. CT. Debinha, a staple with Brazil’s national team since 2011, has 115 caps while Lauren has already made 15 appearances for Brazil since making her senior team debut in 2021, including two matches at the 2023 FIFA World Cup.
