Memphis 901 FC Signs Midfielder Bruno Lapa to Multi-Year Contract

Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced today the club’s initial roster moves following the 2023 USL Championship season.

“We have a very talented group of players on this roster who have shown that they can make a difference on the field and compete at the top end of the table,” Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell said. “We are excited to welcome this group back for the 2024 season and look forward to starting preseason in early January. We want to thank the departing players for their contributions to the club and we look forward to announcing our new signings in the near future.”


Ten players from Memphis’ 2023 roster that saw the club’s third consecutive playoff appearance and second straight top-four finish are under contract for the 2024 season. 901 FC is still in negotiations with more players to return, while eight are confirmed to move on from the club.

Players Under Contract for 2024: Nighte Pickering, Luiz Fernando, Lucas Turci, Samuel Careaga (on loan from Lanus)

Options Exercised: Emerson Hyndman, Bruno Lapa, Carson Vom Steeg, Akeem Ward, Aren Seeger, Dylan Borczak

Option Declined: Jelani Peters

Players Out of Contract: Graham Smith, Rece Buckmaster, Aaron Molloy, Jeremy Kelly, Drew Romig, Laurent Kissiedou, Rodrigo Da Costa

Loan ended: Aiden McFadden

Ongoing Conversations for New Contract: Rashawn Dally, Leston Paul

Additional news regarding new signings will be announced in the near future. Preseason camp opens January 15, 2024.
