Fluchel Nets Winner in Crucial Women’s Soccer Victory at Ohio State


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rutgers women’s soccer (8-6-3, 4-4-1) topped Ohio State (8-6-2, 4-4-1) on a rain-drenched Thursday night at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The integral three points cements the Scarlet Knights firmly in the Big Ten playoff picture with one match day remaining.
The win marks Rutgers’ highest RPI victory of the season with the Buckeyes ranked No. 30.


  • Olivia Bodmer set the defensive tone early with two saves in the opening 10 minutes. She made another in the final two minutes of the opening half to send the match to intermission scoreless.
  • The Rutgers defense limited Ohio State’s chances over the opening 45 minutes as just three of their 12 shots found the frame.
