ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men’s soccer team kicks off its final road trip of the 2023 regular season, beginning their three-game swing at their last regular season non-conference opponent Colgate on Tuesday.

Scouting Colgate
The Raiders are 5-8-1 on the season so far, and 3-2-1 against Patriot League opponents.  Colgate scores less than one goal per game, and has suffered six shutout defeats in 2023.  The Raiders have split each of their last four, defeating Bucknell and American but losing to #18 Syracuse and to Cornell.  Aidan Davock leads the Raiders with five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points, but the Raiders can boast only three other goal scorers.  Colgate earned the three-seed in the 2022 Patriot League Tournament, but was upset in the quarterfinal round to American, 3-1.  UAlbany is 3-9-3 lifetime against Colgate since the teams’ first meeting in 1966, including 3-8-3 in the Great Danes’ Division I era.  However, two of UAlbany’s three wins have come since the 2019 season.
 
Last Time vs. Colgate
October 18, 2022 | UAlbany played in its final non-conference game of the 2022 regular season, hosting Colgate on the team’s Senior Night.  Despite an aggressive start, the Great Danes fell into a lull in the first half, upon which the Raiders capitalized to take a 1-0 lead off of a free kick deep in UAlbany territory in the 36th minute.  After halftime, UAlbany regrouped to outshoot Colgate 10-4 in the second half, and scored an equalizer in the 71st minute when Neophytos Scottis found the back of the net off a setup from Tiago Dias redirecting a corner kick from Giuliano Lucca.  The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
 
Last Time Out
