LA Galaxy II Announce 2023 Preseason Match Schedule

LOS ANGELES – Playing their eighth match of the 2023 campaign, LA Galaxy II fell 2-1 on the road to Sporting Kansas City II at Rock Chalk Park on Sunday night.

LA Galaxy Academy

Seven players with ties to the LA Galaxy Academy started in the match against SKCII: Carson Klein, Allan Legaspi, Riley Dalgado, Adrián González, Brandon Téllez, Juan Calderón and Ruben Ramos Jr. Additionally, two players with ties to the LA Galaxy Academy appeared as substitutes against Sporting KC II: Nicolas Schelotto and Alex Alcalá. Notably, Schelotto made his professional debut, logging 10 minutes in the loss to Sporting KC II.


Goal-Scoring Plays

LA – Ruben Ramos Jr. (Adrián González), 2nd minute: Working down the right wing, Adrián González’s cross into the penalty area was taken down by Ruben Ramos Jr., who took a touch before curling his shot just inside the near post to score his first professional goal.

SKC – Danny Flores, 72nd minute: Following a LA clearance, the ball fell to Danny Flores, whose volleyed shot from just outside the 18-yard box snuck past LA Galaxy II goalkeeper Simon Jillson.

SKC – Pau Vidal (Alenis Vargas), 90+2nd minute: Alenis Vargas’s cross from the right flank found Pau Vidal, whose header from inside the six-yard box was tucked in at the near post.

Postgame Notes

Sixteen-year-old LA Galaxy Academy forward Ruben Ramos Jr. recorded his first professional goal in the match against Sporting KC II.

Adrián González tallied his first assist of the 2023 campaign in the loss to SKCII.
