Real Monarchs Sign Former RSL Homegrown Julian Vazquez

HERRIMAN, Utah – Real Monarchs have announced the signing of former Real Salt Lake Homegrown Player and RSL Academy product forward Julian Vazquez to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract. Vazquez will be on the Real Monarchs roster and available for the team’s upcoming match at Houston Dynamo 2 on Sunday, May 14 at 5:00 p.m. MDT.

“The entire organization is excited to welcome back Julian Vazquez,” said Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran. “Julian is a young, talented attacking player, one who embodies the character of young men our Club aims to develop. We look forward to his continued progress with Real Monarchs.”

Vazquez, 22, signed as a Homegrown player with Real Salt Lake on October 6, 2018, making him the Clubs 17th all-time Homegrown Player. Vazquez played 20 games for Real Monarchs, recording two goals and two assists. He started and featured in nine matches for the RSL Academy U-19 team in 2018-19, scoring one goal. For the RSL Academy U-17 team in 2017-18, Vazquez played in 29 matches, making 25 starts and scoring 13 goals.

Since leaving Real Salt Lake at the end of the 2020 season Vazquez has spent time with Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship and, most recently, with Sporting Kansas City II in MLS NEXT Pro.
