FC Dallas Shuts Out Austin FC at Q2 Stadium

AUSTIN, Texas – FC Dallas (5-3-3, 18 points) defeats Austin FC (2-5-4, 10 points) thanks to Jesús Ferreira’s game-winning goal in the 89th minute on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium.

RISING TO THE OCCASION


Jesús Ferreira’s goal in the 89th minute of the match was his fifth goal in seven career games against Austin FC, the most against Austin in the club’s MLS history. That is his third goal scored at Q2 Stadium and his first since his brace on August 29, 2021 in the 5-3 win. Ferreira leads FC Dallas with four game winners this season.

TOTAL DOMINANCE

FC Dallas improves to 4-0-2 when facing in-state rival Austin FC in the regular season. That’s the club’s first win over Austin since the 2021 season and its second win at Q2 Stadium.

SHUTOUT WIN

Dallas earns its third clean sheet of the season and second 1-0 road victory. FC Dallas defeated Inter Miami CF on April 8 and later played to a scoreless draw against Minnesota United FC on April 30. The win is also FC Dallas’ first shutout win over Austin FC after six regular season matchups.

FC Dallas starts a two-game homestand by hosting Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday, May 17, then hosting the Texas Derby versus Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, May 20 for Armed Forces night presented by Chick-fil-A. Both matches are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30PM CT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, the FC Dallas App, Talk Radio 1190AM and TUDN 1270AM.
