After clinching its spot in the Round of 16 of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with a 1-0 victory over the Charleston Battery on Tuesday night at DRV PNK Stadium, Inter Miami’s opponent and venue for its next matchup in the competition were revealed today. The team is set to host Nashville SC at DRV PNK Stadium on May 23 or 24.
This game will be included in the 2023 Season Ticket Member 19-game package. Season Ticket Members will also receive a discount on any additional tickets purchased. Inter Miami reached the Round 16 after defeating Miami FC on penalties on the road in the Third Round on April 26, and the Charleston Battery on May 9 in the Round of 32 at DRV PNK Stadium.

What is the U.S. Open Cup?
The Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup is a knockout competition that crowns the top fútbol club in the United States. The tournament was first named as an annual championship at the end of the 1913-14 season. Teams from any division in the country can compete in the tournament, such as MLS teams, MLS NEXT Pro teams, USL teams, NPSL teams, and amateur teams.
The Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup operates similarly to other domestic cups worldwide such as, the FA Cup in England, the Copa Del Rey in Spain, the Coppa Italia in Italy, and the DFB-Pokal in Germany.
What happens if Inter Miami wins in the Round of 16?
As mentioned above, the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is a single-elimination tournament, so participating teams play until they lose. If Inter Miami wins its Round of 16 matchup, the team will advance to the quarterfinals, which is set to be played on June 6 and 7.
What is at stake?
The 2023 U.S. Open Cup winner will earn $300,000 in prize money, a berth in the 2024 Concacaf Champions League and have its name engraved on the Dewar Challenge Trophy – one of the oldest nationally-contested trophies in American team sports – now on permanent display at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Frisco, Texas.
