FC Dallas Falls to Nashville SC in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 Match

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – FC Dallas was eliminated from the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup after falling to Nashville SC, 2-0, at GEODIS Park Wednesday night.

ALLEN STRONG

FC Dallas honored the victims of Saturday’s mass shooting in Allen, Texas by wearing black armbands and a T-shirt with the message “Allen Strong”. Nashville SC offered its support with a moment of silence prior to the match and wore black armbands.


U.S. OPEN CUP RECORD

FC Dallas’ Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup record falls to 36-23-6 with tonight’s 2-0 Round of 32 defeat to Nashville SC. The club now holds a 13-16-3 record when playing on the road.

DEBUTS

Defender Geovane Jesus made his Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as a starter, playing 78 minutes. Forward Bernard Kamungo also made his debut after subbing in the 68th minute. Defender Amet Korça made his FC Dallas debut as a sub for Sebastian Lletget in the 78th minute. Goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer made his 2023 season debut.

FC Dallas resumes MLS play on Saturday, May 13 against in-state rival Austin FC at Q2 Stadium. The match will kick off at 7:30PM CT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, the FC Dallas App, Talk Radio 1190AM and TUDN 1270AM.
