Atlético Ottawa fell at the hands of the British Columbia-based side Pacific FC as the club launched its ‘Making it to Saftey’ jersey in partnership with Shletr Movers Ottawa and dedicated to survivors of intimate partner violence.


KEY MOMENTS

Atlético Ottawa remains in the hunt for their first win in the Canadian Premier League season.

Pacific FC made a blistering start, scoring three times in the opening half through Sean Young, Josh Heard and Ayman Sellouf.

Ollie Bassett pulled one back early in the second half-time with a powerful strike from outside of the area – his second goal of the season – before Amer Đidić made it 4-1 at the hour mark.

This game was in support of Shelter Movers Ottawa as Atlético Ottawa aims to raise awareness for the work their organization does to help tackle intimate ârtner violence in that nation’s capital and beyond.

Ottawa wore a special alternative jersey, created in partnership with Shelter Movers Ottawa and featuring drawings from actual children who have spent time in shelters in the Ottawa region.

A portion of the proceeds from each jersey will go directly to Shelter Movers Ottawa.

Atlético faces a quick turnaround with a trip to Hamilton this coming Tuesday to take on Forge FC in the Canadian Championship quarter-finals (the club’s first appearance in this stage of the competition).

Following Tuesday’s match, González’s team play back-to-back away matches in the Canadian Premier League, returning to Ottawa on May 27, 2023, in a rematch of the 2023 playoff final against Forge FC.
