New England Revolution Academy Highlights: May 4, 2023

Revolution Academy Forward Olger Escobar Called up to U-17 Guatemalan National Team

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All four New England Revolution Academy teams were in action last weekend, securing six wins and two draws in eight games with two shutout performances from the U-14s.

The U-14s scored 11 goals in two days with an 8-0 win over Oakwood SC on Saturday and a 3-0 victory vs. Bayside FC on Sunday. Judah Siqueira (2009 – South Easton, Mass.) notched a hat trick while Jonathan Cante (2009 – Pawtucket, R.I.) and Kaleb Oliveira (2009 – Somerville, Mass.) both registered braces vs. Oakwood. Oliveira and Cante both found the scoresheet again on Sunday while David Sellars (2010 – Holbrook, Mass.) tallied his second goal of the season against Bayside.


Cristiano Carlos (2008 – Chicopee, Mass.) tallied twice as Gershom Matimano (2007 – Hampton, N.H.) scored in the 33rd minute to secure the U-15s’ 3-1 victory over Atlanta United on Saturday. Cliff-Grova Rwabira (2008 – Portland, M.E.) scored on Sunday to secure his team’s 1-1 draw with Charlotte FC at Gillette Stadium.

The U-17s saw similar results over the weekend with a 3-2 win over Atlanta and a 1-1 draw with Charlotte. Raphael Alves (2007 – Framingham, Mass.) tallied in the 18th minute while Olger Escobar (2006 – Malden Mass.) notched a brace on Saturday and also scored New England’s lone goal on Sunday.

Jason Zacarias (2004 – Billerica, Mass.) opened and closed the scoring in the U-19s’ 3-1 win over Oakwood as Ezra Widman (2005 – New York, N.Y.) tallied in the 23rd minute on Saturday. The defending MLS NEXT Cup Champions rounded out their weekend with a 4-1 victory over Bayside FC with goals from Widman, Alex St. John (2005 – Needham, Mass.), Felipe Vieira De Andrade (2004 – Westborough, Mass.) and Bryce Flowers (2005 – Sharon, Mass.)
