The crazy Premier League table since Everton appointed Sean Dyche

When Sean Dyche was appointed as Everton manager in January, the club looked in serious trouble.

Dyche’s predecessor Frank Lampard had been sacked after a 2-0 defeat away to West Ham United. Everton sat 19th in the table, having taken just 15 points from 20 matches. They’d taken just one point from the last 21 available and had won just once in their last 11 Premier League outings.

With a reputation for being able to organise a defence, Dyche had kept Burnley in the Premier League for five successive seasons but was sacked by the Clarets a month before their relegation last term.

“It’s an honour to become Everton manager. My staff and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track,” Dyche told Everton’s official website after being appointed.

“I know about Everton’s passionate fanbase and how precious this club is to them. We’re ready to work and ready to give them what they want. That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort and getting back to some of the basic principles of what Everton Football Club has stood for a long time.

“We want to bring back a good feeling. We need the fans, we need unity and we need everyone aligned. That starts with us as staff and players.”

Dyche made an immediate impact, leading Everton to a hard-fought 1-0 win over league leaders Arsenal in his first game in charge. He subsequently led the Toffees to further 1-0 home wins over relegation rivals Leeds United and midtable form side Brentford.

But they remain his only three wins and they’re currently on a seven-match winless streak. They’re still 19th in the table and still scrapping for survival as they approach the final four-match run-in.

Everton have averaged exactly one point per game with Dyche at the helm, which might not be enough to keep them up when all is said and done. How does Dyche’s tenure at Goodison Park look when you view it as a whole in comparison to the rest of the division?

Here’s how the table looks since Dyche was appointed as Everton manager in January. All teams have played 14 matches unless otherwise specified.
