According to reports, Jurgen Klopp is a ‘big fan’ of PSG star Renato Sanches and Liverpool are ‘considering a bid’ for the midfielder this summer.
Liverpool are in the market for a couple of midfielders. They have been looking to recruit Jude Bellingham but they have ended their pursuit of the England international.
The 19-year-old’s value has skyrocketed in recent months amid his superb form for England and Borussia Dortmund. It has been indicated that he could cost as much as £130m if he leaves the German side this summer.
Liverpool are instead going to use their funds to recruit several players and they are naturally being linked with plenty of midfielders.
Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke is now reporting that Liverpool’s ‘search for a new midfielder has extended to Sanches’.
The Portugal international had an unsuccessful spell in the Premier League with Swansea City in 2017/18 but he has rebuilt his career since then. His superb form at Ligue 1 side Lille earned him a move to PSG last summer.
The 25-year-old has only been used sparingly this season, with him only starting five times in Ligue 1. The report from O’Rourke claims Sanches has been made ‘available’ for transfer and Liverpool are ‘considering a bid’.
‘I understand that Liverpool’s search for a midfielder has extended to Renato Sanches.
‘The Reds are still considering all options for the summer window after pulling out of the race for Jude Bellingham.
‘PSG’s fire sale this summer has made long-term target Sanches available, and the Merseyside club are considering a bid.
‘Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the Portuguese midfielder and urged the Liverpool board to sign him prior to his PSG move last summer.’

O’Rourke’s report also lifts the lid on Liverpool’s interest in Chelsea’s Mason Mount. The midfielder is out of contract in 2024 and he is yet to commit his future to the London outfit.
He claims Liverpool are ‘still favourites to sign Mount’ but Bayern Munich are ‘willing to meet his wages’.
‘Liverpool’s pursuit of Mason Mount is also being contested by Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
‘Thomas Tuchel is urging the German giants to reunite him with his former Chelsea playmaker, and the Gunners are also prepared to go head-to-head with Liverpool for the England international.
