ATLANTA – Atlanta United 2 returns to Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sunday, April 30 to take on Philadelphia Union II. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m. EDT and will be streamed live on MLSNEXTPro.com.
In Atlanta’s last match on Saturday, April 22, Nick Firmino scored his second consecutive brace in two matches to help ATL UTD 2 secure three points in their 2-0 victory over Chicago Fire II. Atlanta moved to fourth place in the Central Division after picking up their second consecutive win at home.
NICK FIRMINO
Nick Firmino leads MLS NEXT Pro with five goals this season. Firmino scored his third career brace in last weeks match against Chicago Fire II. The Brazilian midfielder is also tied for the league lead in goals inside 18 with four.
KOFI TWUMASI
ATL UTD 2 captain Kofi Twumasi has won more than 65% of his duels and leads MLS NEXT Pro with 16 interceptions through the first five matches of the season.
COOPER SANCHEZ
Atlanta United Academy player Cooper Sanchez became the youngest player to appear for ATL UTD 2 at 15 years old and 27 days when he replaced Erik López in stoppage time of the second half against Chicago Fire II to make his professional debut.
PHILADELPHIA UNION II
Philadelphia Union II is currently fifth in MLS NEXT Pro’s Northeast Division and is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with five points. After starting the season with three consecutive loses, Union II has won its last two matches, defeating Chicago Fire II and Toronto FC II after a penalty shootout. Stefan Stojanovic leads the team with two goals on the season while Nelson Pierre leads the team with two assists.
