Saturday’s match is the first-ever encounter in MLS history between two teams who’ve reached the 20-point mark within their first 10 games of the season, per Opta. New England sits just ahead of Cincinnati at the top of the MLS table, thanks to their advantage in goal differential, as the two sides have posted identical 6-1-2 records to open the season. With a win on Saturday, the Revolution would match their best 10-game start (7-1-2, 23 pts.), set in their record-setting 2021 campaign.

In regular season play, New England is an unbeaten 4-0-1 in five games in Foxborough and is outscoring opponents 11-2 at home. The Revolution have yet to concede a goal from open play on its home field this MLS season. Meanwhile, FC Cincinnati enter Matchday 10 as winners in four of their last five games, with only two goals conceded over four games in the month of April. The Orange and Blue, tied for the MLS lead with five clean sheets this season, own a 1-1-2 road record.

New England leads the all-time series against FC Cincinnati, 4-1-1, including a 2-2 draw in the most recent encounter between the two sides on July 3, 2022, at Gillette Stadium. Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena has never lost to Cincinnati, owning a 4-0-1 record over five meetings. On the opposite bench, Cincinnati’s coaching staff features Arena’s son, Kenny Arena, as an assistant under Head Coach Pat Noonan, a former Revolution forward who helped New England win three Eastern Conference titles during his five years with the club from 2003-07.
