CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union faced Los Angeles FC in the first leg of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Semifinals on Wednesday night at Subaru Park, battling to a 1-1 draw. The first half saw both sides scoreless with both teams having multiple chances on net. In the 66th minute, Union goalkeeper Andre Blake made a crucial double save on LAFC forward Denis Bouanga to preserve the scoreline. The Union finally had their breakthrough in the 86th minute, when LAFC midfielder Kellyn Acosta committed a hand ball in the box to send Union midfielder Daniel Gazdag to the penalty spot, where he buried his attempt to put the side up 1-0. LAFC responded in stoppage time, when midfielder Kellyn Acosta notched the Los Angeles equalizer.


The Union return to action on Tuesday, May 2, where they will face Los Angeles FC at BMO Stadium in the second leg of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Semifinals (10:00 p.m. ET / FS1).
