Klopp ‘concern’ makes Liverpool add to summer wishlist as ‘spending spree’ will include five signings

Klopp wants new signings

Liverpool have reportedly added to their summer transfer wishlist after Jurgen Klopp aired his ‘concerns’ about his side’s ‘defensive frailties’.

The Reds have endured a difficult season in 2022/23 as they have spent much of the campaign out of the European places.

Liverpool need to go on a remarkable winning run in the coming weeks to gatecrash the Champions League positions. But regardless of how they finish this campaign, they need a few new signings heading into next season.

A separate report from Football Insider claims Liverpool are ‘leading the chase’ for Chelsea midfielder Mount. Arsenal, Man Utd and Newcastle are also ‘monitoring’ his situation but it is believed that Klopp’s side are most likely to sign him.

Mount is due to be out of contract in 2024 and Glen Johnson thinks Chelsea “can’t risk” losing him for nothing.

“The clock is ticking and Chelsea need to be bold regarding the business side of it,” Johnson told Betfred. “This whole situation regarding Mason being linked with a couple of Premier League clubs seems like a bit of a bluff tactic to me.

“The longer it goes without Mason signing a new deal, then Mason’s position will continue to get stronger…
