Huntsville City Football Club Falls 4-3 to Inter Miami II

Huntsville City FC Continues Roster Construction with the Addition of 10 Players Signed

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. – Huntsville City Football Club fell 4-3 on Sunday evening against Inter Miami II. Huntsville City FC saw goals from Jony Bolaños and Shaun Joash in the first 35 minutes of the match, before the hosts scored four-straight goals. Kemy Amiche got one back deep into stoppage time, but the hosts held on to secure the win.


Huntsville City FC got on the board first in the 25th minute after a longball from Cyrus Rad found Bolaños deep in the Inter Miami II half. The midfielder turned away from two defenders and was able to get the ball past the keeper.

Less than 10 minutes later, Huntsville City FC doubled its lead. On the counterattack, Ollie Wright found Joash, who drilled the shot into the far corner from just inside the 18-yard box.

Inter Miami II quickly equalized with two goals in the span of three minutes towards the end of the first half. The first goal was scored after a save by Ben Martino. The second goal came from just inside the 18-yard box following a long ball.

Inter Miami II grabbed the lead in the 64th minute, when substitute Cesar Abadia-Reda scored on his first touch of the game. Inter Miami II doubled its lead in the 74th by converting a penalty following a foul in the box by Chris N’Sa.

Huntsville City FC still had several chances late, and deep into stoppage time, substitute Kemy Amiche scored his second goal of the season after knocking home a low cross from Bolaños into the far corner to cut the lead to one. However, Miami held on late to secure the three points.

After the match, Head Coach Jack Collison addressed the good start by the team, the lack of concentration defensively, and what the team will focus on with a bye week next week.

Huntsville City FC will return to action at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, May 5 against Columbus Crew 2. The match can be seen on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, while Huntsvillians can gather at the official watch party being held at Beezr.
