SEATTLE – Washington head women’s soccer coach Nicole Van Dyke has announced the fourth transfer addition of the offseason for the Huskies in former San Francisco goalkeeper Megan Nail.
Nail, a native of Port Orchard, Washington, brings four years of collegiate experience back to her home state.
After redshirting her true freshman season, Nail made her debut for the Dons during the spring 2021 season, logging eight minutes against BYU. She made four appearances between the posts the following fall, posting a 0.67 GAA with 11 saves, starting a pair of road matches.
Nail took over the starting role for USF a season ago, making the starting XI 14 times. She garnered a 1.23 goals against average. The veteran shot stopper tallied 64 saves for a .790 save percentage, logging five clean sheets.
After posting nine saves in a shutout at UC Davis earlier in the campaign, Nail racked up a career-high 10 stops at WCC powerhouse Santa Clara. Nail closed the season with three straight clean sheets, including back-to-back seven save performances against San Diego and Portland.
The Washingtonian netminder brings a 1.12 goals against average and a .798 career save percentage to Seattle.
