Terem Moffi scored a sensational bicycle kick as Nice claimed a 2-2 draw at Basel on Thursday night.

Nigeria international Moffi had already levelled from close range before he leapt acrobatically into the air in first-half stoppage time to hammer an overhead volley into the Basel net.

Moffi’s stunning strike put Nice 2-1 up but Basel hit back to level the first leg of this quarter-final.

The 23-year-old forward was linked with Southampton and West Ham in the January transfer window

Moffi joined Nice on loan from L’Orient until the end of the season, with an obligation-to-buy for £26.4million.

Fiorentina earned a commanding 4-1 victory in Poland to take control of their quarter-final against Lech Poznan. 

The visitors went ahead after four minutes when Nico Gonzalez’s strike rebounded off the post and the goalkeeper and fell into the path of Arthur Cabral to score. 

Lech Poznan levelled with Kristoffer Velde firing home first time from the edge of the area.

Fiorentina restored their lead when Cristiano Biraghi floated a ball to the back post and Nico Gonzalez directed a towering header into the net. 

Giacomo Bonaventura smashed in the third in the 58th minute and Jonathan Ikone added a fourth moments later.

Michael Murillo and Majeed Ashimeru were on target as Anderlecht withstood late pressure to see off AZ Alkmaar.

Murillo rose to head Anders Dreyer’s ball from the right past Mathew Ryan on 22 minutes. The hosts doubled their lead when Francis Amuzu fed the ball in to Ashimeru, who steadied himself on the edge of the box before powering a low shot past the keeper.
