Brown claims Man Utd will ‘win the PL’ if they sign two stars; Maguire ‘not as bad as everybody thinks’

Man Utd defender Harry Maguire runs

Former Man Utd defender Wes Brown doesn’t think Harry Maguire is “as bad of a player as everybody thinks” but admits he “needs to play”.

The England international has come in for a lot of criticism of the past couple of seasons with supporters pinning a lot of the blame for bad performances on Maguire.

He made a number of high-profile mistakes last season and Erik ten Hag has preferred a centre-back pairing of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez since his arrival in the summer.

And there have been reports that Man Utd boss Ten Hag would accept his departure with claims he could move on in the summer transfer window.

“When I was a player, Sir Alex Ferguson said he wanted me to stay and that I wouldn’t be playing as much, but they still needed me. Anything can happen, and you’ll be in. I just hope that he has those conversations with the manager because I think that Harry does need to play, he is not as bad of a player as everybody thinks.”

Brown also claims that Man Utd will win the Premier League in the next three seasons if they manage to complete the summer signings of Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Brown added: “If Manchester United sign Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, they…
