Man Utd talks for eight-goal wing-back as Joao Felix links continue

Man Utd target Jeremie Frimpong

Manchester United are being linked with an oddly prolific wing-back while striker targets line up for them and Chelsea.

FRIMPONG PING-PONG FOR MAN UTD
Jeremie Frimpong is the former Manchester City youth right wing-back who has scored a barely credible eight Bundesliga goals for Bayer Leverkusen this season and he is very, very much on the radar of Manchester United, who clearly see no future for defensive spiderman Aaron Wan-Bissaka in that position.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg: ‘Talks between his agent Jeffrey Lemmert and @ManUtd have started! 1st round was very positive. Ten Hag admires the player. Frimpong is open to leave Leverkusen in summer. Contract until 2025.’

Bild’s Christian Falk said last month: “Jeremie Frimpong is getting closer and closer to a United move. Frimpong was also a topic in Winter – United really wanted him then.

“You know, he’s a Dutch player and his connection to Erik ten Hag is very close. There should have been talks.

“So, you see now that Ten Hag is performing well with his team and has good arguments for Frimpong and for United in terms of fulfilling his wish. I think he’s one of Ten Hag’s main targets for the summer.”

And so it has apparently come to pass.

And that’s where Manchester United come in, with the Spaniards writing: ‘Manchester United are monitoring his progress on the footballer in the hope that Atlético will agree to make a favourable deal in the summer. This is an old wish of the ‘Red Devils’, who see in the player the angular piece on which to build the revival of the club.’

Now clearly this is some wonderful Google translating and that we much prefer that version to the word ‘cornerstone’ that somebody who actually speaks Spanish would probably say.

MAN UTD STRIKER TARGET FOR CHELSEA?
Much has been made of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund being a Manchester United fan, but that is unlikely to prevent him joining Chelsea this summer. Yes, they need a new manager, but clearly not as much as they need more shiny new players.

‘Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund could be on his way to Stamford Bridge in the summer…
