Graham Potter emerges as the bookies’ FAVOURITE to replace Brendan Rodgers as Leicester manager after being sacked by Chelsea

Graham Potter has emerged as the bookies’ favourite to become the next Leicester manager, after Brendan Rodgers was sacked on Sunday with the Foxes in 19th place in the Premier League and in genuine danger of being relegated.

That’s despite Potter being sacked by Chelsea less than six hours later, having lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa the day prior, with the Blues sat 11th in the table and equally as close to the relegation zone as the top four.

Potter won just 12 of his 31 games in charge of the London club during his nightmare seven-month spell, with Bruno Saltor – who followed him from Brighton to Chelsea – to take charge of the team as interim manager.

Yet, the 47-year-old may not be out of work for long, with Paddy Power now installing him as the favourite to replace Rodgers at the King Power Stadium. Potter is evens to become their next permanent manager.

The former Brighton boss is now significantly ahead of Rafa Benitez (5/1), Jon Dahl Tomasson (11/2) and Thomas Frank (7/1) in the pecking order.

Rodgers, who was informed his four-year reign would end on Sunday morning, following Leicester’s dire display in losing 2-1 at Crystal Palace, had a compensation clause worth about £10million in his contract.
