Man Utd told £90m will ‘likely’ land Barcelona forward with Premier League giants on ‘red alert’

Reported Man Utd target Ansu Fati celebrates a goal with Jordi Alba

La Liga leaders FC Barcelona would ‘likely’ accept a £90million bid for Ansu Fati amidst interest from a host of Premier League clubs including Man Utd.

Fati might have 39 appearances across all competitions this season, but has only been named in the starting XI on 12 occasions.

The player’s father recently slammed Barcelona boss Xavi for the 20-year-old’s lack of playing time.

Bori Fati told Spanish radio station Cope: “Ansu does not want to leave Barcelona but I want to see him succeed.

“I won’t go to the stadium anymore, I’m very angry with the club. In a month we will meet with Jorge Mendes, for sure.

“It bothers me that Ansu plays so little. We’re talking about a player that is a Spain international and came from La Masia. He deserves much more than that.

“I don’t know why Xavi does not play Ansu. He must have his reasons. Ansu is not disgusted with him as Xavi was always his idol. But me… I am very angry as a father.”

“If it was up to me, I would leave Barcelona tomorrow. I told Ansu that if the situation didn’t change, we would have to leave, but he tells me that I’m wrong.”

Xavi responded to Fati’s father by saying he ‘understands’ his complaints.

“I have a lot of faith in Ansu Fati,” he said. “I want him to succeed here.

“He’s calm and focused. He’s training very well. I understand his father, but I don’t give it importance.

“Ansu is only 20 years old. You have to be patient. At Barça there is a lot of competition.”

Fati was given a start against Elche on Saturday, scoring his first La Liga goal since October in the 4-0 win. Afterward, Xavi said he ‘trusts’ Fati was “happy” for him following his goal.

The 20-year-old forward’s lack of playing time has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs.

Arsenal, Man Utd, and Liverpool have all been linked with Fati and definitely stand a chance of bringing him in given Barcelona’s financial situation.

And it has now been made clear how much it would take to sign Fati from the La Liga giants.

According to Football Insider, Barcelona would be willing to listen to offers in the region of £90m.

This report adds Man City to the mix, with it said that Barca could make Fati ‘one of many’ players available at the end of the season.

A number of clubs are on ‘red alert’ following criticism from the player’s father. It is said that Man Utd and Chelsea are ‘also keeping tabs on the situation’.

If he is given…
