The Story:

A number of Lions will be away for this weekend’s match due to international duty, with Pedro Gallese and Wilder Cartagena representing Peru while Facundo Torres is away with the Uruguayan National Team. For the U.S., Favian Loyola and Alex Freeman have been called into camp with the U-19s while Mikey Halliday and Thomas Williams are away representing the U-20 National Team.

Designated Player Martín Ojeda scored his first goal as a Lion last week after being acquired this past offseason from Godoy Cruz.

Forward Duncan McGuire tallied his first professional assist last weekend, his second-consecutive match with a goal contribution.

Quote of the Week:

“You always have to be ready no matter what, whether you don’t think you’re gonna play, you think you’re gonna play, you always got to be ready, always being prepared and treating every game like you’re going to be the one playing,” Stajduhar said. “I think it’s also taught me patience. No situation is permanent and things can change like that. So, I’d say patience and preparedness for sure.”
