March 24, 2023 – National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL)Kansas City Current News Release

KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Current and the KC Streetcar Authority are proud to announce a new streetcar wrap design as the Current gets ready to begin the 2023 season. The streetcar will feature the Current’s iconic “KC Baby” chant as the team plays its first match of the 2023 season on Saturday.

“We are so excited to partner with the KC Streetcar for another beautiful streetcar design,” said Dani Welniak, Vice President of Communications at the Kansas City Current. “The KC Baby design represents the unflinching pride our team has for this city and its people. We can’t wait to welcome fans aboard and join us in celebrating KC, baby!”

“The KC Streetcar loves partnering with KC Current,” said Donna Mandelbaum, Communications and Marketing Director of the KC Streetcar. “The 2023 KC Current Streetcar is the second time we are partnering on a streetcar wrap, with the first one revealed in November 2021 alongside the announcement of the new KC Current brand and crest.  The 2023 design elevates the already strong KC Current brand and logo with a fantastic Kansas City map design and the “KC Baby” tagline.”

In a few years, the Kansas City Streetcar will serve the new KC Current Stadium when the KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension is complete in 2025. This will directly link Berkley Riverfront Park with downtown, midtown, the Country Club Plaza and UMKC, increasing rider connectivity to businesses, residences, schools, cultural institutions, and more.

The Kansas City Current begins its season on the road, taking on the North Carolina Courage on Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. The team returns to Kansas City for its home opener, a rematch of the 2022 NWSL Championship, on Saturday, April 1 with kickoff at 11:50 a.m. Fans are encouraged to #PackThePark for the home opener, broadcast on CBS.

Season tickets, Flex plans and single match tickets are available for all home matches at Children’s Mercy Park. For pricing and information visit kansascitycurrent.com/tickets.
