DURHAM – Prior to making her professional debut this coming weekend, former Duke women’s soccer All-American Sophie Jones took some time away from her busy schedule to talk with Blue Devil Network recently as she was in town for a few days.
A four-year starter with the Blue Devils, Jones was drafted 43rd overall in the 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) draft and signed with the Chicago Red Stars earlier this week. She will make her debut with the Red Stars on Saturday, March 25 as Chicago hosts San Diego.
Jones, a native of Menlo Park, Calif., is one of 10 Blue Devils to make an opening day roster in the NWSL.
