CARY, N.C. – The North Carolina Courage today announce their 26-player regular season roster for the start of the 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. Of the 26 players under contract, 24 will be active heading into the first match week of the season, leaving the Courage two shy of the active roster limit.

Midfielder Emily Gray, the third overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft, suffered a torn ACL during preseason and will miss the 2023 campaign. She has been placed on the Season-Ending Injury list. Forward Tess Boade, who suffered a shoulder injury while on loan in Australia over the off-season, begins the year on the 45-day Injured Reserve.

The roster consists of 17 players who were with the Courage in 2022 and nine new players. All four 2023 NWSL Draft selections are under contract and the Courage are utilizing five international spots.

2023 North Carolina Courage Regular Season Roster:

Goalkeepers (3): Marisa Bova, Casey Murphy, Katelyn Rowland

Defenders (7): Malia Berkely, Sydney Collins, Estelle Johnson, Emily Fox, Kaleigh Kurtz, Kiki Pickett, Ryan Williams.

Midfielders (7): Emily Gray (SEI), Narumi Miura (INT), Denise O’Sullivan, Brianna Pinto, Clara Robbins, Meredith Speck, Frankie Tagliaferri.

Forwards (9): Tess Boade (IR), Millie Farrow (INT), Mille Gejl Jensen (INT), Haley Hopkins, Tyler Lussi, Rikke Madsen (INT), Kerolin Nicoli (INT), Brittany Ratcliffe, Olivia Wingate.
