Tottenham Hotspur have slapped a £100million price tag on Manchester United target Harry Kane ahead of the summer transfer window, according to a report.
Kane’s contract is set to expire in 15 months’ time, though it is believed that Tottenham have opened negotiations over an extension.
It promises to be a pivotal summer in Kane’s career as he will surely make a decision on his long-term future in north London.
Should he decide not to pen a new deal, Tottenham could decide to cash in on their all-time leading goal scorer.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have been strongly linked with the England captain since last summer following Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona.
Another European juggernaut reportedly keeping an eye on Kane’s situation is Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag’s side are expected to sign a new no. 9 at the end of the season and have also been linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen will likely cost around £100m should he leave the future Serie A champions, and that is what Tottenham will look to receive for Kane, according to Football Insider.
Kane is on United’s ‘radar’ ahead of the summer window with Ten Hag ‘eager’ to sign a new striker.
With the player turning 30 in July and only having 15 months left on his Spurs contract, the report states that the club’s asking price is ‘surprisingly large’.
Spurs will ‘refuse’ any offers below the £100m valuation in a potential blow to United and Bayern.
Chairman Daniel Levy will be as ‘stubborn’ as ever to ensure he gets the best deal possible and ‘won’t budge’ as he aims to keep the 29-year-old ‘beyond the summer’.
The Red Devils will probably be more likely to pay that sort of money for Kane, while Bayern will probably just poach some striker from a Bundesliga rival for substantially less.
