The England international has revealed he watched the Carabao Cup final but refused to see the United players lift the trophy, admitting the thought of doing so “burns”.
“I watched the game, but as soon as they were getting ready for the trophy lift I turned off,” Alexander-Arnold told The Telegraph. “I thought, ‘There is no way I am watching that’. Knowing they lifted that trophy? It burns. Oh yeah. It definitely burns.”
Alexander-Arnold notes that Ten Hag has been able to change United’s fortunes “very quickly” and also referenced table-topping Arsenal, who are defying the odds this season, as he insists Liverpool’s form is not worrying him too much.
