The Championship has been a breeding ground for young prospects to develop and the latest gem emerging from the league is Bristol City’s Alex Scott.
Nicknamed the Guernsey Grealish, Bristol City fans have been well aware of Scott’s potential for quite some time now, but his latest showing against Manchester City has put the spotlight on him.
The Robins have an excellent track record when it comes to developing youngsters and so it’s no surprise to see that they have yet another gem on their hands.
From Lloyd Kelly to Antoine Semenyo, Ashton Gate has seen its fair share of prodigies, but Scott might just be the most promising player they’ve had yet.
The 19-year-old has started in all but one of Bristol City’s league matches this season and he seems to be getting better by the day. Scott has been used in a variety of roles but is probably best when he has a license to roam.
He has a killer eye for a pass, but what’s perhaps most impressive is his ability to wriggle around defenders. Having been fouled a total of 71 times in the league, defenders will try all sorts to attempt to slow him down.

Bristol City’s 3-0 loss against Man City in the FA Cup doesn’t quite paint the picture of how the game unfolded. The home said made a real game of it and Scott was central to almost everything they were doing.
Having won five ground duels, completed five successful dribbles and pulled off two long balls, it was a memorable night for Bristol City’s number seven.
Pep Guardiola even described Scott as “an unbelievable player” during his post-match press conference. The high praise is richly deserved as the youngster continues to impress.
Considering that this is only Scott’s second full season in the first team, his potential is huge. Scott has also represented England at youth level and he will be a player to keep your eye on in the future.
“He’s just a very unique talent and he’s got a very impressive temperament,” Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson told Bristol Live.
