The football keeps on coming as remaining teams battle it out in the fifth round of the FA Cup in midweek.
Manchester United lifted the Carabao Cup on Sunday afternoon but the Red Devils have little time to celebrate as they prepare for England’s other domestic cup. A midweek round of FA Cup fixtures is a modern phenomenon, with supporters being treated to a banquet of cup action over two days.
Just 16 teams remain amid their respective quests to Wembley, with two games separating each from a FA Cup semi-final under the famous arch.

The upcoming FA Cup fifth round ties will be played over two days. Four games will be played on Tuesday 28 February, with the other four taking place on Wednesday 1 March.

A couple of top flight teams should be on upset alert in midweek. Tottenham travel to Bramall Lane on Wednesday night to take on a Sheffield United side that’s poised to win back promotion to the Premier League. The Blades overcame a scare in the fourth round to set up this tie, and they have very little to lose.
Spurs’ recent resurgence, however, would suggest they’re primed to at least avoid defeat on the road in this one.
Elsewhere, Man City will be expected to waltz beyond Bristol City, while Burnley and Southampton should win their respective home ties.
Leicester have a battle on their hands against Blackburn Rovers, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Championship side spring a surprise. West Ham, too, will be buoyed from their crucial win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but they’re taking on a very good Man Utd side who are playing with all of the confidence in the world. The Red Devils should progress on home soil.
