Hoping to Maintain Momentum
- After splitting the ACC/Big 10 Challenge, 2-2, the Pack looks to stay in the win column after winning the challenge finale against Purdue
- The Pack picked up their first win of the 2023 season after defeating Iowa in eight innings — a single up the left line by Madison Inscoe brought in two runs to give the Pack a 3-1 advantage in the top of the eighth
- After the midweek tilt with the Phoenix, NC State will host the Wolfpack Classic
Pitcher Turned Utility Player?
- Freshman pitcher Madison Inscoe started two games in the circle and won both to record her first two career wins as the Pack’s pitcher
- In the circle, she pitched eight consecutive no-hit innings (last four of game two against Iowa and first four in game two versus Purdue) and recorded five strikeouts
- She started two games at first base, where she recorded 12 putouts with one assist
- From the plate, she recorded two hits, one homerun, four RBI’s at 13 at bats — in addition to recording the hit that won the Pack’s first game of the season versus Iowa
Early Reunion
- This will be the first time graduate Rebecca Murray faces her former teammates and coaches (spent last four years at Elon)
- Murray played and started all 167 games throughout her career with the Phoenix
Scouting Elon
- Elon was tabbed to finish fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association Preseason Poll
- The Phoenix are 4-5 overall thus far this season
- The two teams have meet every year dating back to 2011
- NC State has won the last two meeting and leads the all time series 14-9
- Head coach Kathy Bocock became the program’s winngest head coach after their win against JMU on Feb. 19 (278-262-2)
