LA Galaxy Academy Midfielder Paulo Rudisill Named to U.S. U-17 Men's Youth National Team for 2023 Concacaf U-17 Championship in Guatemala

LOS ANGELES – The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has signed U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Tyler Boyd to a one-year contract through the end of the 2023 MLS season.

Boyd, 28, joins the Galaxy having played in over 275 matches and registering 54 goals and 28 assists in the top leagues of New Zealand, Portugal and Turkey. The winger most recently played for Turkish Süper Lig side Beþiktaþ J.K. (2019-22), where he tallied four goals and one assist in 35 matches played (25 starts) across all competitions.


“We’d like to welcome Tyler to the LA Galaxy,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach and Sporting Director Greg Vanney. “Tyler is a highly motivated player with a wealth of experience, a high work rate and a capacity to finish attacks. We look forward to integrating him into the team this season.”

During his time with Beþiktaþ, Boyd went on loan with Turkish Süper Lig club Sivasspor in 2021, where he recorded five goals in 15 appearances (8 starts). The following season, Boyd was sent on loan to Turkish Süper Lig club Çaykur Rizespor (2021-22), where he notched two goals and three assists in 29 league appearances (23 starts).

Prior to joining Beþiktaþ, the Tauranga, New Zealand, native played for Portuguese Primeira Liga side Vitória de Guimarães (2015-19), where he logged one goal and two assists in 15 appearances (7 starts) across all competitions. While with Vitória S.C., Boyd had loan spells with Turkish Süper Lig club MKE Ankaragücü (2019), where he recorded six goals and four assists in 14 games played (14 starts), and Portuguese Primeira Liga side C.D. Tondela (2017-18), registering five goals and four assists in 29 matches played (15 starts) across all competitions.

Boyd began his first stint in Portugal with Vitória S.C.’s B team (2015-17), where he logged 13 goals and six assists in 73 appearances across all competitions. He began his professional career with New Zealand First Division side Waikato FC (2011-12), where he registered four goals and three assists in 14 league appearances (13 starts). Boyd then joined Australian A-League club Wellington Phoenix (2012-15), where he logged four goals and four assists in 47 career league matches played (16 starts).

At the international level, Boyd has recorded two goals and one assist 10 appearances (6 starts) for the United States Men’s National Team since making his debut against Venezuela on June 9, 2019. Boyd…
