LIVERPOOL JOIN OSIMHEN RACE
Liverpool are ‘ready to fight back’, apparently, with The Times insisting that FSG are ready to fund a major rebuild of Jurgen Klopp’s squad this summer. Though probably not to this extent…

The word from Fichajes is that the Reds are keen to get themselves towards the front of the queue to sign Victor Osimhen. The Napoli striker is on fire this season, with both Manchester United and Chelsea ready to go big for the Nigerian before the start of next season.

United and Chelsea have been told that it will take a record-breaking bid to land Osimhen, with Napoli reportedly looking for a fee in the region of £133million. Given Liverpool have already invested heavily in their front line, and the far greater need to sign midfielders and centre-backs, Klopp will surely allow the Red Devils and Blues to fight it out among themselves for the 24-year-old.

REDS EYE ALISSON STAND-IN AND SUCCESSOR
Liverpool may also require a new goalkeeper this summer, with Caoimhin Kelleher likely to move on to play some football rather than watching Alisson from the bench.

The Sun reckons the Reds could find an immediate replacement for Kelleher and a long-term successor to Alisson if they sign Bart Verbruggen from Anderlecht.

The 20-year-old is yet to hit double figures for appearances for the Belgian club having taken his place in their nets only after the World Cup but the feeling is the 6’4″ stopper’s value will soar and the Reds are minded to move quickly for the Holland Under-21 stand-in.

UNITED IN DUMFRIES DISCUSSIONS
Denzel Dumfries was heavily linked with a Premier League move last month but the right-back remained at Inter Milan. For now…

Among the Holland international’s suitors were Manchester United and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils are still keen.

So much so that talks are already underway with Dumfries’ agent, though it seems the biggest obstacle will be convincing Inter to allow the 26-year-old to leave for less than their current asking price of £44million.

United could make half that amount by selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the end of the season, with West Ham said to be considering a £22million move for the 25-year-old whose career at Old Trafford looked over before a recent run in Erik ten Hag’s side.
