Women's Soccer Reveals 2023 Spring Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina announced its 2023 spring women’s soccer schedule on Friday. The Tar Heels have four matches scheduled against ACC opponents, each of whom appeared in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

UNC will host Duke and Clemson at Finley Field, while making road trips to Wake Forest and Virginia.

The schedule kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 25, when the Tar Heels travel to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 9-7-3 season and their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance. They finished ninth in the ACC with a 3-6-1 record.

UNC will play its first of two home games on March 4 against Duke. The Tar Heels defeated the Blue Devils twice last season, winning 3-0 in Durham before eliminating them from the ACC Tournament on penalty kicks. Duke finished the season 15-5-3 overall and ranked No. 6 in the final United Soccer Coaches poll.

North Carolina will then travel to Charlottesville, Va. to face the Cavaliers, who posted a 16-4-3 overall record and finished the season ranked No. 11. UVA advanced to the round of eight in the NCAA Tournament, falling to UCLA in overtime.

UNC will conclude its spring slate April 15 at Finley Field against Clemson. The Tigers finished seventh in the ACC last season with a 4-3-3 conference ledger and compiled an 8-5-5 overall record. They made their ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, losing to Vanderbilt in the first round.
