Duran Ferree Added to Under-17 National Team World Cup Qualifying Roster

SAN DIEGO – San Diego Loyal SC goalkeeper Duran Ferree has been added to the United States Under-17 Men’s National Team roster that will compete in the 2023 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship. The tournament takes place February 11-26 in Guatemala, with the U.S. opening group play against Barbados. The four 2023 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship semifinalists will automatically qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.


The 16-year-old San Diego native was called up to the 20-player roster to replace the injured Diego Cochen.

The U.S. was drawn into Group F and begins its quest for a record 18th FIFA U-17 World Cup bid against Barbados on Saturday, Feb. 11 (FS2). It will then face Trinidad and Tobago on Monday, Feb. 13 (FS1) before closing the group stage against regional rival Canada on Wednesday, Feb. 15 (FS2). All three of the USA’s group stage matches are set to kick off at 5 p.m. PT.

Last month, Ferree was called to the U-17 MNT for a domestic training camp where he became the first active SD Loyal player to be summoned to a U.S. National Team camp. He is the second goalkeeper on the roster along with Adam Beaudry of Colorado Rapids.
