Everton have been handed a transfer boost with the news that free agent Isco wants to join the club, according to reports.
Earlier this week a report claimed that Isco had been offered to Manchester United before the transfer deadline but now it is Everton who are hopeful of landing the former Real Madrid attacking midfielder.
The Spaniard scored 53 goals in 353 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid before moving on to Sevilla at the beginning of this season.
But after playing 19 times this campaign, Sevilla and Isco agreed to terminate his contract at the club with the 30-year-old coming close to a move to Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin on deadline day.
Spanish publication Sport yesterday claimed that Everton are now keen on a move for Isco, despite having some concerns, as new manager Sean Dyche looks to add creativity to his side.
And now Italian website Tutto Juve insists Isco is ‘very much’ in favour of a move to Goodison Park on a free transfer and the option of moving to the Premier League side ‘would please’ the former Spain international.
The report does add that Everton are ‘yet to make a concrete proposal’ for him, despite their interest, while Isco has offered himself to Juventus – but the Italian club remain ‘unconvinced’.
Everton are currently on a run of nine defeats in 12 Premier League matches and they will be hoping new boss Dyche can turn their form around when he takes charge of his first match against Arsenal on Saturday.
Ahead of the match, Dyche told reporters: “I’ve had a good chat with a couple of the players – I don’t mean sitting in an office and chatting, I mean generally about their careers, how they are, what they are feeling. Just trying to build that rapport with them.
“I have always thought if you affect the person you will affect their performance. It is hard to do vice-versa so I always try to build a rapport and honesty.
“I have already told them that and we had a question and answer session about what they thought, with complete anonymity.
“I wasn’t interested in who said what, I just wanted their feedback. Once they gave me that I shared it back with them and said this is what you fed back, what do you think? It just gives us a chance to open it all up a bit.
“We need to get to the truth with them and we need to get the truth about what me and my staff can offer.
“Sometimes it is just best to ask them so I did. It is as simple as that.”
