Arsenal signing Jorginho from London rivals Chelsea is a 10/10 deal, while losing Joao Cancelo is an ‘absolute nightmare’ for Man City, says CHRIS SUTTON, as he rates the January window on TRANSFER CONFIDENTIAL

Arsenal‘s shrewd move to bring Jorginho to the Emirates from Chelsea has been rated as a 10/10 deal by Sportsmail’s Chris Sutton.

The 31-year-old Italian midfielder has joined the Blues’ title-chasing rivals in a £12million deal, which has divided fans given his age, with the Italy international now set to rival Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Albert Sambi Lokonga in midfield.

But Sutton feels the move was a ‘no brainer’ for the Gunners as they prepare to snap up a player of his huge pedigree and experience – saying he could be the difference maker in their bid to win the title.

‘I’m surprised he’s gone to Arsenal and Chelsea are helping Arsenal,’ he told Transfer Confidential. ‘I think, from Arsenal’s point of view, he may be the signing which helps him win the Premier League. I think that he’s a really talented player.

‘This looks like a compromise because they’re saying “we’re not going to get Moises Caicedo and we’re not going to get Declan Rice in this window”. At 31 it’s a good piece of business, for £10m or £12m it’s cheap as chips.

‘From Arsenal’s point of view, that’s a 10. I I really think that’s a no brainer and a smart piece of business.’

However, Sutton was less impressed by Manchester City letting Joao Cancelo join Bayern Munich on loan after he fell out with Pep Guardiola over his game time and attitude.

Cancelo – widely regarded as one of the world’s best wing-backs – completed his move to the Allianz Arena on deadline day, with the Germans having the option to sign him permanently for £61m.

‘Joao Cancelo – that move to Bayern Munich, that has come out of absolutely nowhere,’ he added. I think if you’re at Manchester City fan, you are really concerned about this now. Manchester City may end…
