Transfer news: 12 Premier League deals that could still happen this month

Moises Caicedo could be on his way to Arsenal

The end of the January transfer window is looming with deadline day on the horizon – but there is still plenty of business to be done.

Teams at the top of the Premier League are desperate to strengthen ahead of a second-half push for Champions League football and silverware.

Meanwhile, the lucrative nature of staying in the Premier League is prompting those facing relegation to finalise any last-minute deals which could ultimately be the difference.

Sportsmail takes a closer look at 12 potential transfers involving Premier League clubs that could yet go through before the deadline of 11pm on Tuesday.

Sergio Rico

Nottingham Forest have turned their attention to Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico after missing out on Keylor Navas last minute.

Forest’s first-choice keeper Dean Henderson suffered an injury in the club’s Premier League victory over Leicester earlier this month with his return date still unknown, and Navas was hoped to provide competition to Wayne Hennessey for a spot in the starting XI.

However, despite initially showing a willingness to let the vastly experienced Navas leave, the French giants have changed their mind and offered Forest the option of taking his team-mate Rico instead.

Rico now looks more likely to arrive at the City Ground as a deputy for Henderson ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

Forest, who made 23 signings in the summer, have already brought in Danilo, Gustavo Scarpa and loanee Chris Wood this January.

Moises Caicedo

Is Mikel Arteta set to strengthen his squad even further ahead of Arsenal’s push for a first Premier League title in 19 years?

Brighton are standing firm that Moises Caicedo is not for sale but Arsenal need to hit £80m to make them change their minds.

Having failed with their original offer of £60million on Friday, the Gunners then tabled a new bid worth £65m plus a further £5m in add-ons – which was also rejected.

It comes despite Caicedo taking to social media to plead with Brighton to let him leave.

The Seagulls would need to find a replacement and  RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara is one option.
