Nottingham Forest’s move for Atletico Madrid defender Felipe is close to completion… with Steve Cooper looking to add experience to boost his side’s Premier League survival hopes
Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of veteran Atletico Madrid defender Felipe.
Steve Cooper is looking to sign the 33-year old Brazilian before the end of the January transfer window to boost his side’s Premier League survival hopes.
Felipe, who has made two caps for Brazil, lost his place in Diego Simeone‘s starting line-up this season.

He has made just four appearances in all competitions and has largely been seen as an unused substitute, with Simeone relying on the likes of Mario Hermoso and Jose Maria Gimenez.
Felipe has made 113 appearances for the LaLiga since he arrived from Porto in 2019.
Forest were not the only Premier League team who considered a move for the player this window, with talk of interest from Wolves before Cooper’s side stepped up.
Steve Cooper’s side have already added midfielder Danilo, playmaker Gustavo Scarpa and forward Chris Wood to their squad in the winter transfer window, in addition to the 23 players they signed following promotion last summer.
