LOS ANGELES – Angel City Football Club (ACFC) today announced that the club has officially signed goalkeeper Angelina Anderson to a one-year contract. Anderson was selected 27th overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft.

“I am beyond excited to be a part of Angel City,” said Anderson. “I love what the organization stands for, both on and off the pitch. I cannot wait to get to work, connect with the ACFC community, and call Los Angeles home.”

“We are thrilled to add Angelina to our group of goalkeepers,” said ACFC Goalkeeper Coach Daniel Ball. “She was a widely sought after prospect out of college and she has a wealth of experience competing and positively affecting games at the highest level, both in college and representing and captaining the United States in global tournaments. I am fired up to watch her grow in the immediate term and thrive in years to come with Angel City. It helps that she has two examples of what elite goalkeeping looks like in Brittany and DiDi.”

Anderson, is an alum of University of California, Berkeley where she recorded 26 career shutouts for the Golden Bears, the second-most all-time in school history. She was the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2019.

“We brought Angelina into a clinic for prospective goalkeepers who were looking to play in the NWSL, and she impressed our coaches right away,” said ACFC Head Coach Freya Coombe. “So, in terms of the manner in which she carried herself, the way she inserted herself in the sessions, and her very mature approach. We’re really excited to see what she can do coming into the environment with a high level of readiness to become a pro.”
