Erik ten Hag ‘demands’ Man Utd pursue £155m trio in the summer transfer market

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag looks annoyed

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag has already set out his three main targets for the summer transfer window as he keeps building his squad, according to reports.

The Red Devils are unlikely to spend any money on permanent transfers in the January transfer window with reports claiming they will only bring in loans this winter.

And Ten Hag’s squad looks fairly well set to qualify for the Champions League this term after strengthening with the loan signing of Wout Weghorst from Burnley last week.

Their 2-1 victory over Man City over the weekend has seen them move to within a point of the defending champions, who occupy second place, but Premier League leaders Arsenal are still nine points ahead of United.

Man Utd spent a lot of money in the summer to bring in Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Lisandro Martinez and others to help Ten Hag get off to a good start but the Dutchman will demand more next summer.

Spanish publication Fichajes claims that Ten Hag ‘demands’ Man Utd support him again with the former Ajax boss making ‘three requests’ for the summer.

And because of his good start to life at Old Trafford, the Man Utd hierarchy ‘want to meet his demands’ despite the club being up for sale.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who could be available for £100m, is ‘the main objective to enhance the attack’ with Weghorst likely to just be a ‘patch’ for their real permanent target.

Fichajes insists that Kane’s profile ‘fits perfectly’ into what Ten Hag is looking for with the England international’s contract expiring in 2024.

Ajax star Mohammed Kudus, whose asking price is understood to be around £30m, is wanted by the Man Utd boss to ‘boost rotation in the midfield area’ with Ten Hag knowing the Ghana international from his time at Ajax.

It is said that he ‘fits perfectly with the needs of the team’ and Ten Hag’s ‘intention is to make an offer in the summer to win the race against AC Milan’.

Finally, Jordan Pickford, who is valued at £25m by Transfermarkt, has been ‘chosen to replace David De Gea, who ends his contract in the summer of 2023 and has not renewed’.

Ten Hag is said to like Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa too but ‘the market price of him is much higher’ and Pickford will be their main target.
