‘Irritated’ Liverpool and Man Utd ‘dismiss’ Prem star but Arsenal join transfer fight after ‘verbal offer’

Liverpool-linked Trossard

Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly grew ‘irritated’ in their pursuit of Leandro Trossard but their rivals remain in the fight for the Brighton star.

Trossard has shone for the Seagulls since joining them following their promotion to the Premier League.

The Belgium international came into his own at the start of this season as he has seven goals and two assists in 16 Premier League outings this term.

His future is in doubt at the moment as his contract is up in 2024. His deal was recently automatically extended by Brighton for a further year.

Brighton are in a great place at the moment as they are coming off big wins over Everton and Crystal Palace.

But Trossard is out of favour as Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that he “wants more” from the midfielder.

This has fuelled talk that he could leave Brighton in the near future and earlier this week it was claimed that Tottenham have already made a ‘verbal offer’ for him.

“His agent has been working extremely hard to fuel interest. He went to Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

“Liverpool and Manchester United dismissed it and as I understand it they got irritated by how much was being leaked about interest in his client.”

Tottenham will have to beat Arsenal to sign Trossard, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

He confirms that Tottenham’s interest is ‘genuine’ but Arsenal are also ‘monitoring developents’.

There are no frontrunners at this stage, with Crook claiming that there have not yet been any ‘firm bids’.

Ex-Premier League attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor feels Trossard would be a “good player for Spurs”.

But the pundit “can’t see them” meeting Brighton’s asking price to sign him.

“I think Trossard would be a good player for Spurs,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“The problem for Spurs is when two of that front four get injured – Kulusevski, Son, Kane, Richarlison – they’re very light.

“They need another winger, for sure. They’ve got a lot of games to play. FA Cup, Champions League, fighting for the top four.

“You can’t be playing Bryan Gil, he’s not the answer.

“But…
