Chelsea set to beat Man Utd to Portugal forward as Gakpo chooses Liverpool

Atletico forward Joao Felix, PSV's Liverpool-bound attacker Cody Gakpo, and Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

Manchester United have already lost one of their attacking targets to Liverpool and they could watch another join Chelsea, who are also keen on a £30m defender…

UNITED EYE ALTERNATIVES AS GAKPO GOES TO LIVERPOOL
The January transfer window hasn’t opened yet but Manchester United have lost their first battle…

The Red Devils have been keen on Cody Gakpo since the summer, when they dithered over signing the Netherlands forward from PSV Eindhoven. United were expected to make a rather more decisive move mid-season, but Liverpool have beaten them – and everyone else – to the punch by agreeing a deal said to be worth £37million up front, with add-ons said to be worth another £13million.

Gakpo is no longer on the shelf, but United are still hunting for January bargains in the Eredivisie…

According to Mundo Deportivo, Erik ten Hag fancies a reunion with Mohammed Kudus. The Ghana midfielder starred at the World Cup and, upon returning to Ajax, the 22-year-old has stated his desire to move on next month.

Everton were keen in the summer and their interest remains, though Kudus may have grander plans than a relegation battle with the Toffees. Apparently, United have made approaches towards Ajax, who are willing to sell if their £40million valuation is met.

CHELSEA TO MOVE FOR FELIX
United have also been heavily linked with Joao Felix, who looks set to leave Atletico Madrid next month. It was claimed in the summer that the Red Devils made a huge bid for the Portugal forward but the Rojiblancos rejected the offer.

A lot has changed since then, with Felix finding himself on the periphery of Diego Simeone’s plans. Atletico are now inviting interest in their record signing, who is keen to get away from the Spanish capital.

The Telegraph says Chelsea are ready to move swiftly to sign…
