Arsenal, Man Utd ‘push hard’ for striker but ‘crazy offer’ is needed as asking price is revealed

Arsenal-linked Vlahovic

Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly ‘pushing hard’ to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus but the Serie A side are demanding a ‘crazy offer’.

The Gunners battled hard to sign Vlahovic earlier this year but they ultimately missed out to Juventus.

The striker made his name in Serie A with Fiorentina. He netted 21 goals in 37 outings in 2021/22. He followed that up with 17 goals in just 21 appearances the season after.

This led to clubs being interested in him in January and Juventus ultimately swooped to sign him late in the window for around £66m.

Vlahovic has actually enjoyed a pretty good start to life as a Juventus player with him netting 16 times in 36 outings across all competitions.

But Arsenal and Man Utd are ‘pushing hard’ to sign him and it is suggested that Bayern Munich and PSG ‘can enter the match in progress’.

The report suggests that Vlahovic now has a major decision to make regarding his future but it is indicated that Juventus are demanding a ‘crazy offer’ to sell their forward.

It is believed that an offer ‘exceeding 80 million euros (£69m) would be needed to kick off a real negotiation’.

Arsenal once again being linked with Vlahovic is too be expected as Gabriel Jesus ha picked up a knee injury that will leave him out of action for a couple of months.

Reports on Monday suggested that Mikel Arteta will be backed in January as the club’s board want to help sustain a title challenge in the Premier League.

But a move for Vlahovic seems unlikely until the summer at least with the Gunners focused on recruiting a new centre-midfielder and winger. It is suspected that their priority targets are Mykhaylo Mudryk and Youri Tielemans.

Over at Man Utd, they are in need of a new striker after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual consent last month.

His departure leaves Erik ten Hag with just Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to choose from up front.

They are being heavily linked with PSV’s Cody Gakpo amid his…
