Dallas Comes up Short 9-6 vs Empire on Teddy Bear Toss Night in Texas

Dallas Sidekicks Re-Sign Veteran Goalkeeper Juan Gamboa

Allen, TX – The Dallas Sidekicks took on the Empire Strykers at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center for the Sidekicks’ second game of the season. It was Teddy Bear Toss Night.

Strykers player, Adrian Perez, opened the scoring sheet at the 3-minute 28-second mark. Eight minutes into the first quarter, the Strykers scored a power-play goal by Justin Stinson. Sidekicks player Albert Rodriguez scored the only Sidekicks goal in the first quarter. After Rodriguez’s goal, teddy bears were thrown on the field to donate to a local charity. After the 1st quarter, the score was 2-1 Strykers.


In the second quarter, Strykers player, Franck Tayou, scored with an assist by Robert Palmer at the three-minute mark of the game. The Sidekicks then followed up by scoring two goals which Albert Rodriguez and Flavio Guzman scored making it a tied game. However, Strykers player, Gabriel Costa scored at the ten-minute mark making the score 4-3 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Strykers dominated scoring three goals with goals by Justin Stinson, Franck Tayou, and Gabriel Costa. Sidekicks player, Gustavo Piedra scored at the nine-minute mark of the game making the score 7-4 Strykers.

In the fourth quarter, Strykers player, Adrien Perez, scored and Sidekicks followed back up with a goal by Gustavo Piedra. Later on, the Strykers scored a goal from Adam James. Flavio Guzman scored the last goal of the game, but it was too late for a Sidekicks comeback.
