20th – WOLVES

Top scorer: Ruben Neves (4)

Status check: Wolves have scored only eight league goals this season so incoming manager Julen Lopetegui doesn’t need to be a genius to work out what has to change. Diego Costa is still looking to open his account for the bottom-of-the-table club.

Lopetegui will want to use Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie against League Two Gillingham as a morale-booster before the very serious business of a Boxing Day visit to Goodison.

Transfer Talk: Have held talks over a double deal for Atletico Madrid’s Matheus Cunha and defender Felipe but terms are still to be finalised and they face competition on Cunha. Have also discussed a loan for Manchester United’s Aaron Wan- Bissaka.

3: Wolves’ three red cards is the most of any PL club this season.

Saints have been in the Premier League for a decade but bookies fear the run could be about to end. They calculate relegation is between them and Bournemouth, Forest, Wolves and Everton.

Transfer Talk: Missed out on PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo in the summer and still want a versatile forward. Matt Crocker’s pending departure from head of football operations won’t change plans.

108: James Ward-Prowse has run 108.4 miles this season, the furthest of all PL players and 2.5 miles more than Declan Rice, in second place.
