BOULDER – Colorado forward Civana Kuhlmann was named Third Team Academic All-America by the College Sports Communicators, formerly known as CoSIDA, on Tuesday.
The honor marks Kuhlmann’s first Academic All-America selection. She was one of five Colorado players to be named CSC All-District in November.
Kuhlmann wrapped up her only season in Boulder with career numbers. The Centennial, Colo., native, and Stanford transfer, put a bow on her season with her 12th goal of the season in CU’s season-finale against Utah. Her 12 goals tied for the second-most in a season by a Buff, alongside Taylor Kornieck (2019), Jorian Baucom (2018), and Katie Griffin (2005). Kuhlmann also handed out a career-high six assists this season to finish with a career-best 30 points.
Her 30 points finished 2nd in the Pac-12 and ranked 22nd in the NCAA. Kuhlmann tied Kornieck (2019) and Baucom (2018) for the second most in a season in program history.
Kuhlmann is the second Buff to receive Academic All-America honors, joining Hannah Sharts’ First Team selection for the 2020 season.
Kuhlmann, who graduated with a degree in communications at Stanford, is working towards her master’s in organizational leadership. She was also a First Team All-Pac-12 and First Team All-Pacific Region selection in 2022.
She will now look toward the NWSL Draft, set for Jan. 12.
