Garrison Tubbs Earns United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-South Region Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wake Forest men’s soccer junior Garrison Tubbs has been selected to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches All-South Region first-team, the organization announced on Tuesday.

With Tubbs’ selection, the Demon Deacons have had 26 all-region honorees under head coach Bobby Muuss including 16 picked to the first-team. It also marks the eighth-straight year in which Wake Forest has had a student-athlete named to the first-team.

This is the second postseason honor for Tubbs for the 2022 season, as he was also named to the All-ACC second-team. Tubbs was one of five Deacs to start all 20 matches during the campaign, as he logged a program-high 1,750 minutes of action. Wake Forest recorded eight clean sheets during the season including four against conference opponents.

Offensively, Tubbs recorded six points off of two goals and two assists. Both of his goals were game-winning strikes in a 6-1 victory over George Mason on Sept. 20 and a 3-0 shutout of Wofford on Oct. 18.

Tubbs was tabbed as ACC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 13 following performances in back-to-back victories over Winthrop and NC State, the first weekly conference honor in his career.
